Assumption, Accidents, and Awful Blushes

Arora was sure she was ordinary until the morning she found a fancy envelope on the kitchen table. Her name was written in curly green letters: Miss Aurora Parker, Bedroom Under the Stairs. Her heart raced. This is it! My Hogwarts letter! She imagined herself flying on a broomstick, making potions, and eating chocolate frogs. Without waiting, Arora ran to school and told everyone, “I’m going to Hogwarts! See you in September!” Her friends stared in surprise, then some laughter burst out while others in the room giggled. After school, she raced home to start packing. But when she opened the envelope, her smile faded. It wasn’t from Hogwarts at all; it was an invitation to her cousin’s Harry Potter-themed birthday party. Arora’s cheeks turned as red as a Gryffindor scarf. She had made a big wrong assumption.

Pearl reminds us that sometimes a story doesn’t need to be long—one Hogwarts mix-up and a blush as red as a Gryffindor scarf are more than enough to keep us laughing!
