Come
Let’s fly in the stories
Escape the toil of life
Laying on the fluffies
Counting the stars
One, Two, Three,
Slowly, we float down.
The fluffies morphed into lumps of charcoal
That wed a dark shadow;
Frightened, metallic cries filled the room,
Pulling us back from the fluffy, cottony tales.
Gone;
It’s all gone;
Dragging your gloomy twin stars,
Facing the desk—all over again.
The terrible class learning! Oh, it sucks…

Yvonne Wu is an emerging poet whose love for prose and verse began with a chance encounter with 18th-century British Romantic poetry. Drawn to its celebration of nature and emotion, she found in it a mirror of her own vibrant spirit. Her poems are rich in emotional responses to the world around her, capturing fleeting moments with sensitivity and depth. Yvonne is currently working on her first collection of poems, soon to be published.
